The Sierra de Gredos mountain range is well-known for its glacial complexes (cirques, mountain lakes…). It has high mountain tops, e.g. the 2,592-metre peak Almanzor, and an infinity of gorges of great beauty, with natural pools the water has carved out of the rock.
It is an ideal place for multiple outdoor activities. La Casa de Arriba, in collaboration with other enterprises, offers: hiking, horse riding and cycling routes, mountaineering and climbing, cross-country skiing, mycological routes, ornithological routes …
It is also very near to the valleys Valle del Tiétar and Valle del Jerte; as well as important remains from the past: the Roman road of the pass Puerto del Pico, the megalithic dolmen of Lanzahita, the Vetton hill-fort of El Raso, the castle Castillo de Don Beltrán de la Cueva, the Palacio de la Triste Condesa (Palace of the Sad Countess) ...
Finally, in a radius of 60 to 200 kilometres, there are five provincial capitals declared by the UNESCO World Heritage sites: Ávila, Salamanca, Segovia, Toledo and Cáceres.
